You can certainly be a founder without the ability to write yours own route (https://yoursownroute.com/)hard-core code, but you do need to be a master of your craft, be it sales, hiring, PR, startegic thinking, fundraising and so on and all of that is technical. Hiring, marketing and fundraising are all very precise, process-driven endevours. I actually wrote a post about this a while ago.
